Taking a few deep breaths and consciously relaxing your pelvic floor muscles can make removal easier. As you relax, your pelvic floor muscles release, which can help make your cup easier to reach.
Take a deep breath in and allow your belly to expand. As you breathe out, consciously relax your pelvic floor muscles—similar to the feeling of releasing your muscles when you urinate. Repeat this a couple of times, focusing on keeping your shoulders relaxed.

Your DIVA Cup should stay comfortably in place once it has fully opened and formed a seal. If your cup seems to be moving higher or feels noticeably higher than usual, it may not be fully open or may not be the right fit for you.
If this happens, check that your cup is fully open and sitting low in the vaginal canal. If you consistently find that your cup moves higher or is difficult to keep in place, it may be worth considering whether a different size would be a better fit for you.
If your cup has moved higher and you're having trouble reaching it, take a moment to relax your pelvic floor. Try sitting on the toilet or squatting to help bring your cup lower and make it easier to reach. Once you can reach the cup, gently grip the base and release the seal before removing it. Avoid pulling forcefully on the stem.
If you're having trouble reaching your cup, try a few rounds of box breathing, also known as square breathing. This breathing technique can help you relax and release tension in your pelvic floor muscles, which may make it easier to reach your cup.
1. Breathe in slowly for 4 seconds.

Once you feel relaxed, try sitting on the toilet or squatting in a comfortable position. Gently reach into your vagina with your thumb and index finger until you can reach the stem or base of your cup.

You may need to use your thumb and index finger to gently squeeze the base until you feel the seal release.Once the seal is released, gently rock the cup from side to side as you guide it downward. Avoid pulling forcefully on the stem or trying to remove your cup while the seal is still intact.
Once you can reach your cup, use your thumb and index finger to gently grip the base of the cup rather than pulling on the stem.
The stem can help you locate and reach your cup, but it isn't designed to be used to pull the cup out. Once you have a secure grip on the base, you can gently guide the cup downward.
Gently squeeze the sides of your cup to allow it to collapse slightly as you remove it. This can help the rim pass through the vaginal opening more comfortably. Take your time and guide the cup out slowly and gently.
If you're having difficulty removing your cup, take your time and don't worry—it can't get lost inside your body. Take a moment to pause and relax your pelvic floor muscles. A warm shower or bath may help you relax and make removal more comfortable.
Once you feel relaxed, try changing positions, such as sitting on the toilet or squatting. Make sure you can reach the base of the cup and release the seal before gently removing it.
If you're still having difficulty, take a break and try again when you feel more relaxed. Never pull forcefully on the stem or use tools or other objects to remove your cup.
If your DIVA Cup has been inserted for 12 hours or more and you’re unable to remove it, stop attempting to remove it yourself and contact a healthcare professional for assistance.
