Let's Troubleshoot

Does something feel off with your DIVA™ Disc? You're not alone. Most first-time issues are super common, and usually easy to fix.

If your DIVA™ Cup seems to be riding a little higher than expected, it may just need a quick check to make sure it's fully open. Even when it feels open, a small section can sometimes still be folded. Try sliding a finger between the outside of the rim and your vaginal wall, gently pressing on the sides. This can help the cup pop open completely and create a secure seal.

If you're routinely finding it difficult to get your DIVA™ Cup to open, it may be a sign that the size isn't the best fit for your body. Sometimes a cup that's too large can be harder to open fully and may cause a bit of discomfort. If this happens, connect with our team at support@divacup.com. We'll help you find the perfect fit.

If your DIVA™ Cup is sliding down, it usually means there isn't enough muscle tension for it to form a proper seal against your vaginal walls. This could be a sign to try a different size. If you're already using the Model 2, you may also want to consider another option, like the DIVA Disc, which doesn't rely on a seal to stay in place.

Leaking is one of the most common beginner experiences, and it's usually an easy fix.

Has your DIVA™ Cup fully opened? After inserting, try gently sliding a finger between the outside of the cup and your vaginal wall. Lightly press on the sides or create a bit of space with your finger to help the cup open completely and form a seal.

Is your DIVA™ Cup sliding down? You might need a bigger size, or to strengthen your pelvic floor muscles with exercises like Kegels. If you're unsure, a healthcare provider or pelvic health physiotherapist can offer personalized guidance.

Have you cleaned the air holes? The small air holes near the rim help the DIVA™ Cup create the seal. If one is blocked, it can affect performance. You can test this by filling your cup with water, covering the top with your hand, and gently squeezing—you should see water flow through all four holes.

Some users may experience mild discomfort when trying a menstrual cup for the first time, but it should not be painful or persistent. If you are experiencing ongoing discomfort during wear, it may be related to cup size or positioning.

Signs your DIVA™ Cup may be too large:You may have difficulty getting the cup to fully open, or you may be able to feel it during wear. In some cases, this can also be related to positioning rather than size.

Signs your DIVA™ Cup may be too small: You may feel pressure or a sense of fullness. This often happens when the cup sits too low in the vaginal canal or shifts downward during wear.
